TWO alleged drug kingpins have been extradited back to Perth where they were wanted on a number of charges after they were caught by police at Maryborough's Carriers Arms Hotel.

Brothers Ziad and Rabih Jneid, accused of masterminding a drug syndicate caught importing methylamphetamine valued at $8 million, had warrants issued for their arrest on June 2 after applications were made to withdraw the $250,000 surety conditions attached to each of the men's bail.

A Perth police spokesman said police had been called to the hotel on Tuesday night.

"Local police responded to a report of suspicious behaviour," the spokesman said.

"They were called to investigate."

The two men were apprehended by police and, after their identities were established, plans were made to extradite the men back to Perth.

"Investigations revealed the men had travelled to Maryborough on a small aircraft," the spokesman said.

The men are due to appear before Perth Magistrates Court today and a judgement will be made regarding the men's bail conditions.

The men were charged after six search warrants were executed on Anzac Day last year involving 70 police officers, resulting in the alleged seizure of firearms, ammunition, steroids and more than $380,000.

A spokesman from the Carriers Arms Hotel declined to comment on the incident.
