THE burnt out shell of a stolen van has been discovered at Eli Creek.

Emergency services were called to the popular fishing spot down a dirt track off Martin St, Point Vernon following reports of a fire early on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said the vehicle was believed to have been stolen and torched overnight.

Investigations are continuing.
