A MARYBOROUGH man is expected to be charged with drink-driving after crashing into the wall of the Shamrock Hotel bottle shop on Wednesday.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was trapped in the car after he allegedly lost control while navigating the drive-thru bottle shop.

Paramedics freed the man about 4.30pm took him to the Maryborough Hospital under police escort.

He had allegedly returned a positive blood-alcohol reading at the scene.

Council workers were called in last night to ensure the wall, which had several bricks dislodged, was structurally sound.
