Community raises $5000 for funeral costs after teen's death
THE family of Karley Rees has been presented with $5000 raised by the community in response to the tragic death of the teenager a little more than a week ago.
Mark and Sarah Vakauta from Rumaz Niteclub organised the fundraiser to help the family cover the funeral costs of Ms Rees.
Ms Vakauta said members of the public donated $4371.80 at Rumaz on Friday night, and then she and her husband donated the rest to bring the total to $5000.
She said the donation was presented to the Rees family on Saturday.
Ms Vakauta thanked the members of the public for their support of the family in a difficult and emotional time.
