Probation for woman who held ex-lover at knifepoint

A WOMAN who held her female lover captive in their home while armed with a knife has been placed on 18 months probation.

Malinda Grace Doyle pleaded guilty in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court to deprivation of liberty, common assault, wilful damage and unlicensed driving.

The court heard Doyle was holding a knife when she forced her ex-partner to sit at their table and refused to let her leave the home.

Accusing her partner of cheating, Doyle demanded she tell her the passcode to her phone.

Doyle smashed the phone and assaulted the woman.

Along with the probation order, Doyle was disqualified from driving for six months.
