Slip an extra shrimp on the barbie: Hoges is coming

WITH the recent croc sightings in Hervey Bay, perhaps there is no better time for Crocodile Dundee himself to visit the Fraser Coast.

Paul Hogan will be headed to Maryborough's Brolga Theatre in August with his latest show, HOGES; One Night Only! The hilarious truth and nothing but the truth.

The two-hour show will include a combination of stand-up, storytelling and unseen clips and is being rolled out to 25 regional venues across Australia.

Hoges first toured regional Australia 30 years ago and since then has had a TV show, won Logies, Golden Globes, hosted the Oscars and sold Australia to the world, however he will forever be known as Mick 'Crocodile' Dundee.

"Country people are so often busy with their businesses or properties and local commitments that they can't just drop it all and rush off to the city to hear some joker rabbiting on for two hours, so I thought I'd come to them," he said.

Producer Dean Murphy said Hoges wasn't doing the tour for the money.

"I've worked with Paul for many years now and am yet to meet anyone who cares less about the money," he said.

"For Paul it's about spending time with nice people and simply having fun."

Asked if Hoges was now a Yank, Mr Murphy said no.

"Paul is an Australian citizen and always will be," he said.

"He has spent the past 20 or so years splitting his time between Australia and the US due to work and family commitments but Australia has always been home."

Hoges will appear at the Brolga Theatre on Monday, August 4, and tickets, with prices starting at $79.90, go on sale on Wednesday, June 18,
