The force was strong with Fraser Coast Star Wars fans

MORE than 700 people woke up tired on Thursday morning across the Fraser Coast thanks to the midnight screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Big Screen Hervey Bay had 440 people attend the launch of the sci-fi classic while Maryborough's @Cinema's saw more than 300.

@Cinema's manager Becky Bull said the midnight release was the largest she had seen in her eight years of working at the movie cinema.
