Fraser Coast teacher fronts court on 45 child sex charges

A FRASER Coast teacher has fronted court charged with more than 40 child sex-related offences.

The primary school teacher, who cannot be named, was arrested at his home last month and charged with rape, sodomy and other offences related to the historic assault of two brothers and another boy.

Police will allege the three boys were known to the accused but were not his students and are now adults.

Education Queensland previously confirmed the 47-year-old teacher had been stood down pending the outcome of the investigation but could provide no further comment as the charges were before the court.

On Thursday, the man, who was supported by a partner and represented by lawyer Fiona Terrell, fronted the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court charged with a total of 45 offences.

The charges were adjourned until a later date.

Investigations are continuing.
