Fraser Island resident airlifted to hospital with chest pain

A 38-YEAR-old man suffering chest pain has been airlifted by the AGL Action Rescue Helicopter from Orchid Beach on Fraser Island.

The Fraser Island resident had been in pain for 14 hours before the helicopter was tasked to airlift him about 3pm on Sunday.

He was initially treated by a nurse on the island before being met by the helicopter's flight paramedic.

The rescue chopper airlifted the man to the Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
