Search for missing man called off after body found

UPDATE: Police have called off the search for a missing Hervey Bay man after a body was found.

Police would not release any further details.

EARLIER: Police are appealing for help to locate a man missing from Hervey Bay since Tuesday.

Christopher Stephenson, 25, was last seen by a family member at a Wondunna residence on Tuesday morning.

A police representative said he suffered from a medical condition and his family was concerned for his welfare.

Christopher is described as Caucasian and about 180cm tall with a muscular build, brown short curly hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion.

It is believed he is travelling in a blue 1998 Holden Barina hatchback with a distinctive silver bonnet.

It is also believed that he may be travelling in the northern New South Wales coast area.

Byron Bay police have been making inquiries on Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Hervey Bay police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
