HE MIGHT throw some mean punches but outside the boxing ring, boxer Jarrod Fletcher shows off his soft side.

The 31-year-old Commonwealth Games winner will be showing some love when he arrives in Hervey Bay this Valentine's Day to officiate Bayside Transformations Valentine's Red 6km Fun Run.

Bayside Transformation's events and funding co-ordinator Maria Pezzutto said Mr Fletcher would be at the event to promote healthy living, to raise funds and to spend some time with the people who were doing it tough at Bayside.

"All funds raised will go to buying a new van to transport Bayside residents to the doctors, church and various events," she said.

The run starts at 7.30am at the Bill Fraser Park and will end at the Sea Front Oval.

Prizes for the winners include a catamaran cruise, Brolga and Z-Pac theatre tickets and more.

Participation costs $20 per person and an extra $10 if you're bringing a friend along.

For more information, phone Bayside Transformations on 4194 6621.
