In-form Roar wary of weary Mariners

FOOTBALL: The Brisbane Roar and Central Coast Mariners have got to know each other well in crucial games in the past few years.

Tomorrow's match could be the most crucial of all for the Roar and coach Mike Mulvey says the team could not be in better form ahead of the blockbuster clash at Bluetongue Stadium.

The Mariners are in a poor run of form going into tomorrow's game, having lost three out of their past four A-League games plus a defeat in the Asian Champions League in Japan midweek.

While Mulvey would be glad to see Central Coast off the pace, he is more concerned about how his side, which has gone four games unbeaten in the league, is travelling.

"We are getting them at the right time for one reason - because we are playing well," Mulvey said.

"It doesn't matter what's happening with them.

"That's my mantra ... if you can take care of your own performance, you should be able to perform anywhere."

The Mariners have had a tough few days with three games in a week and long flights to and from Japan
