Kingfisher Bay Resort loved by brides

FRASER Island's Kingfisher Bay Resort has been named the best resort reception venue in Queensland at the Australian Bridal Industry Awards.

It is the second time the resort has won the coveted award.

Assistant resort manager Corey Law said the awards had extra special meaning as they were voted by brides and grooms who had married at the resort.

"We hope this win shines the spotlight on the Fraser Coast and Fraser Island as a world class destination for weddings and celebrations," he said.

Melbourne's Donna and Luke Edgecombe, who were married at Lookout Point on Fraser Island, held their reception at the resort last weekend.

Mrs Edgecombe said the location was beautiful, with the staff going out of their way to make sure the day went smoothly.

"It was more than we could have imagined."

She said they were glad they had chosen Fraser Island for their wedding.
