Labor announces Scoops on Bazaar owner to take on Maddern

POPULAR Maryborough businessman Bruce Saunders has been announced as Labor's candidate to take on Anne Maddern in the next State Election.

Shadow Attorney General Yvette D'Ath announced Mr Saunders as Labor's candidate on Wednesday.

Speaking to the Chronicle before the conference, Mr Saunders pledged to "stop the rot" in Maryborough.

"After seeing what the current government has done to Maryborough, the rots got to stop," he said.

"Maryborough needs leadership

"Stop the decay in Maryborough and lets get Maryborough moving."

Mr Saunders said he would keep his gelato shop, Scoops on Bazaar, open.
