A HAND of two kings has won poker player Clint Ennis the dream trip of a lifetime to Las Vegas, after he came third in the state's biggest tournament in Mackay.

Clint, 37, has been playing poker for seven years at Harvey's Bar & Bistro in Urangan and the RSL in Pialba, but he never thought his poker face and lucky hand would take him all the way to America in June.

Clint joined 590 other players at Al's Vegas Spectacular in Mackay over the weekend, and said he was "over the moon" to have taken home bronze.

"The fact that I've made it to Vegas is honestly a dream come true," Clint said.

"First and second took home some more money but this is what it was really about."

While in Vegas, Clint will have a chance to try his luck in a series of poker games which could make him millions.

"If I win it'll be huge," he said.

"But even just to go there is big enough.

"It's funny to think that this all just started sitting at the bistro's table playing for fun with my mates."
