Man apprehended by police near picnic grounds in Maryborough
UPDATE: A local man allegedly assaulted and obstructed police and caused a public nuisance in Maryborough on Friday morning.
A police spokeswoman confirmed the 27-year-old would be charged with assaulting and obstructing police, and causing a public nuisance, after he was arrested near the intersection of Russell and George Sts about 8.40am.
He was taken to the police station in Maryborough from the George Furber Picnic Grounds.
Three police cars were required on the scene.
The man was shouting unintelligibly from the back of the police wagon after he was apprehended.No further details are available at this stage.
