Police hunt for man on crime spree last seen in Torquay

POLICE are hunting a man alleged to have committed about 30 crimes in the past two weeks in the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay areas.

Hervey Bay Detective Sergeant Mick Polit said the man, about 35-years old, was last seen in Torquay on Monday.

He is wanted for a "string of offences" from fraud and to the unlawful use of a motor vehicle, committed since December 1.

While police have not yet released his photograph, the man is described as about 180cm tall with a solid build, Caucasian in appearance and with short brown hair.

The man, "of no fixed location", carried out his alleged crimes in the Kallangur, North Lakes, Sunshine Coast and Hervey Bay areas.

The man is not believed to be armed or dangerous.
