Man slashed with knife in attempted robbery

HERVEY Bay detectives are investigating an attempted armed robbery at Urangan early this morning.

Initial investigations suggest around 1.15am a 20-year-old man was walking along Pulgul Street when he was approached by two men, one of which was armed with a knife.

The men demanded money and when the 20-year-old man refused a physical altercation occurred resulting in the man receiving several lacerations to his arm.

The man was transported to the Hervey Bay Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police investigations are continuing.
