Mum and grandmother forget two-month-old baby in car

A TRIP to Maryborough's Bunnings outlet nearly turned into tragedy for a Howard family after a two-month-old baby girl was left in a car in the store's parking lot.

Passers-by noticed the baby in the car about 12.35pm and made phone calls to emergency services.

The child's mother, aged 27, and grandmother, both from Howard, were found and told police they had forgotten the child was in the car.

A police spokesman said the child had been checked by ambulance officers and was fine.

The temperature in Maryborough was 28 degrees at the time of the incident.

Police said no further action would be taken.
