Chronicle photographer to open exhibition of news photos

FRASER Coast Chronicle chief photographer Alistair Brightman will speak at the official opening of the on Friday evening.

"There are three photographers in the awards that I've worked with when I've worked in Cairns.

"Every job you go to has the potential to be an award winner.

"You're capturing history in the moment.

"Without photos in the paper, it'd be very dull and boring."

In 2013 Alistair was a PANPA winner as well as a Clarion and APN finalist for his brilliant shots around the Fraser Coast. He said it was that quest for the great image that kept him snapping.

The official opening of the exhibition at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery, which features Images from around the world captured by the best Australian photographers, starts at 6pm on Friday.
