GLADSTONE, get ready to be branded with a unique experience.

For the first time in years, Marley Brown Oval will be filled with bulls and cowboys instead of balls and footballers.

The Brand of Experience 4bs Rodeo kicks off at 5pm tonight.

Brand of Experience 4bs Rodeo organiser and promoter Rod Nunn said they were hoping for a large crowd to pack Marley Brown's stadium and watch the action.

"Hopefully it will be one of the best things put on here," Nunn said.

He said there hadn't been a rodeo in Gladstone for 16 years.

As a prime mover of the event, he said his main aim was to aid junior development in the region.

And he knows the importance of that, with two bullriding sons of his own. "It is very important, otherwise you don't prosper. They are our future in any sport." Brand of Experience 4bs Rodeo stock contractor Brian Duggan said top performing bulls would feature in tonight's action. "Game On is unridden in his career so far," Duggan said.

Nunn said many sponsors made the event possible.

Gates open at 4pm. Action begins 5pm. Tickets $20 adults, $10 high school students, $5 primary school students and younger.
