A BOAT was towed back to the Urangan harbour on Sunday after the lone skipper's body was found onboard at the weekend.

The motorboat was moored off Fraser Island when the owner, a man aged in his 40s, was found to have died in non-suspicious circumstances on Saturday.

Hervey Bay Water Police waited for a change of tide and safely brought the boat back to the marina about noon on Sunday.

A report was last night being prepared for the coroner.
