UNIVERSITY of Southern Queensland students hit the town on Saturday in ceremonial dress, marching from Maryborough's Town Hall to the Brolga Theatre to celebrate graduation day.

Up to 120 graduates took part in the ceremony. Among them was this year's valedictorian, Matthew McKeon.

"To be asked to be valedictorian at my graduation ceremony is a great honour and a fantastic way to finish my university experience," the Bachelor of Commerce student said.

USQ executive manager Brett Langabeer said the day was a success with the march being a way of promoting the university's presence in the community.
