17-year-old airlifted with critical injuries after crash

A 17-YEAR-OLD suffering head injuries was flown to a Brisbane hospital in a critical condition on Sunday. 

The teenager had been involved in an earlier motor vehicle accident and suffered head injuries as a result of the crash. 

It's believed the man crashed a ute into a tree at Beelbi Creek near Hervey Bay. 

He was airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue from Hervey Bay Hospital. 

The Sunshine Coast-based rescue helicopter was tasked to assist the man shortly after 1pm.

The CareFlight clinical team provided treatment to the man on arrival at Hervey Bay Hospital.

He was then flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition.
