There's a lot to be positive about on Coast: opinion

IS THE Fraser Coast on the brink of a property boom?

I know there would be quite a few property owners living around Hervey Bay and Maryborough that are hoping so.

With mayor Chris Loft announcing to the Chronicle that there is a billion dollars worth of investment to be approved by the Fraser Coast Regional Council in the next 12 months - the outlook is promising.

Personally, I'm shocked to see some of the prices for development land packages which are just a stone's throw away from the water.

Where else would you find property that cheap and so close to the coast?

It's only a matter of time until we see more baby boomers retiring from metropolitan areas, who are looking for a change and our region seems to have it all.

To me, the Fraser Coast seems like the obvious place to invest.

Our connection to north and south, the Bruce Highway, continues to improve, we are seeing major announcements to health services and the local tourism industry is only being strengthened with calls to make places like Maryborough an RV hub.

Things are definitely looking up for the Fraser Coast.

But now it's more important than ever that our local leaders in council, State and Federal governments give investors even more confidence to spend their money on the Fraser Coast.
