A MAN who bashed someone up having just been released on parole for the attempted murder of his brother, has been jailed for a further three years.
Rikki Lee Kaye first made headlines when he and his adopted brother forced their way into a Pialba home and attacked their third brother with samurai swords.
The family of the victim, who died a few years later of unrelated injuries, won a compensation battle against Kaye and his co-accused in 2011.
Kaye had been serving the bulk of a six-year sentence for the attack when he assaulted a man at the halfway hostel where he was staying.
He fronted the Hervey Bay District Court on Friday charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm.
Justice Richard Jones sentenced Kay to a total of three years to be served concurrently but cumulatively with a separate jail term handed down in 2011.
Kay will be eligible for parole in February next year.
