Traffic snarl on Bruce Hwy near Tiaro due to roadworks

DRIVERS travelling on the Bruce Hwy south of Maryborough are being warned of heavy traffic congestion north of Tiaro.

Traffic is reportedly banked up for more than 10km at the southern approach of the Chinaman Creek Bridge.

Resurfacing of the road began late last month and works are expected to be finished within the next two weeks.

Only one lane is open on Friday and delays should be expected.

The Transport and Main Roads Department has advised drivers to "factor additional time travel to their journey".
