Human chain sends out message loud and clear

08.09.08

A lot of wool goes into knitting 477m of colourful scarves. The lovely ladies of the Mary Valley have certainly been busy.

Yesterday the scarves played a vital role as about anti-Traveston dam campaigners gathered to spell out the "Save Sandy Strait" message to federal Environmental Minister Peter Garrett.

Stretched out to between people on the sand, the scarves were clearly visible from the air as people joined together in a human word chain on the beach at Urangan.
