How and where you can ring in new year
Whether you're keen to rock out the hottest night spots or take in the fireworks with the family, there's somewhere for you to bring in the new year tonight.
Families can celebrate at Maryborough's Portside and Seafront Oval in Hervey Bay.
Moonlight movie Nim's Island, rated PG, will light up both towns along with rides, food stalls and early fireworks.
The fun starts in Maryborough at 6pm and Hervey Bay at 6.30pm.
Live music will continue after the movie followed by a midnight fireworks display in both towns.
Here are the night spots to party your way into 2009:

• Hoolihans; 10am-2am, entertainment: The Hooligans; cost: free entry
