
THEY'VE only just been and gone but those who competed in the Caloundra Wind and Surf Speed Challenge in Burrum Heads can't wait to come back next year for the annual event.
Windsurfers from around Australia came to compete and all were impressed with the conditions, which they described as being perfect for windsurfing.
“Everyone was very impressed with the windsurfing conditions in Burrum. We really enjoy coming here,” organiser Justin Boland said.
“We wish it were next year already.”
Brisbane's Michel Vander Plit won the overall speed title with a top speed of 37.568 knots.
In the women's division, Kellie Tusler from the Sunshine Coast fought off tough compeititon to become the women's champion, producing a top speed of 29.631 knots.
In the one-hour category Brian Hopper of Yeppoon came first, while in the nautical mile division Brad Anderson took the honours.
Jason Carey of Rockhampton came first in the radar division.
