Greg and Dorinda Mercier race in the 400A class at the Qld points series V8 jet boat races at Susan River.
A WEEKEND of tough competition marked the second round of the Queensland points series held at Susan River on the weekend.
After the success of the racing on the weekend organisers are now looking forward to hosting an Australian points round at Susan River in September.
With more boats, bigger crowds and even more action, organiser Col Bellert can't wait for September.
Former Australian champion Mark Garlic dominated his race on the weekend.
He won the 350 class. His son Jake was second in the race.
The competitors raced in front of a large crowd on Sunday.
The weather also pleased organisers on the day.
“It rained on Sunday morning but it held off in the end which was a bonus,” Bellert said.
After testing a two-day format, with qualifying rounds on Saturday, more qualifying rounds on Sunday morning and finals on Sunday afternoon, Bellert said the organisers would be making a few adjustments before the Australian points round.
