MARYBOROUGH could be painted pink again for the World's Greatest Pub Crawl next year - or it might be swathed in another colour.
Committee chair Anne Nioa said the rousing success of the pink theme, with the McGrath Foundation for breast cancer the main benefiting charity, had organisers wondering if they should stay pink again next year.
“Some brilliant pink costumes were put together and it would be terrific if they had another run. The breast cancer cause was popular.
“If we do go with another colour, however, I think we will stick with the idea of a colour theme.
“It makes it easy for everyone to feel part of it by just sticking on a hat or wearing a scarf of the theme colour but we don't want to restrict costumes to one colour, so the judging will reflect that.”
Ms Nioa said the judging had become more difficult as crowds grew - more than 8000 people were estimated to be on the crawl this year - so next year the judging panel would be set up in Wharf Street at the corner of Richmond Street.
“Anyone wanting to let judges see their costumes and performances will have four hours to stroll past that intersection.”
The committee was also looking at more rubbish bins, portable toilets beside bus stops and possibly a 10am start so the crawl could finish in daylight at 5pm.
