WENDY Matthews will be giving fans a taste of her earthly acoustic sounds tonight when she plays the Hervey Bay Boat Club.
On the back of a run of sell-out shows in New South Wales, Matthews has headed for Queensland, craving a climate change.
“I'm looking forward to warming my bones in the middle of winter,” she said.
Fans Ian Kerwick and Joanie Weatherburn will be sitting front row tonight to give Matthews her warm reception after winning double passes to her performance through the Fraser Coast Chronicle.
So what can Matthews fans expect tonight?
“A group epiphany?”
“The live stuff is an immediate exchange with all the people in the room. Music to me is just such a wonderful feeling.”
Matthews is in the midst of her own professional epiphany after she released her own label in January to produce her latest album.
“It's a fresh start. A new adventure. I think a major label didn't really know what to do with me.”
“It feels great to own every aspect of my business. I miss the major label bank rolling me but its been a huge learning curve.”
Matthews will play at the Hervey Bay Boat Club tonight at 8pm.
