TWO Hervey Bay police officers were injured yesterday when a disturbance at Urraween escalated into violence.

About 2.30pm two officers arrived at a Chancellor Drive house to speak with a man.

Shortly after arrival, police said, the officers and the man became involved in a struggle.

Crews arrested and handcuffed the man after four more officers and the dog squad were called in as backup.

A spokesperson confirmed that two officers were injured but would not disclose how badly because the situation was still under investigation.

The man was expected to be charged and front court.
