THE LAST day of spring is set to be a sizzler on the Fraser Coast with temperatures predicted to top 34 in Maryborough and 31 in Hervey Bay.
Forecasters say both cities will experience fine weather throughout the day.
Residents are encouraged to slip, slop, slap, however, as extreme UV rays are expected.
The weekend brought near perfect beach weather for Fraser Coast residents.
Temperatures climbed to 34.1 degrees in Maryborough and 29 degrees in Hervey Bay.
Forecasters say the warm weather is expected to continue for the next few days with mostly fine weather and possible afternoon showers.
“The upper trough, currently approaching southern Queensland from the south, will amplify further and move eastwards,” a forecaster said.
“So instability will increase over the south east of the state. The fresh gusty south-to-south-easterly wind change will increase.”
Hervey Bay may receive a thunderstorm today or tomorrow.
