TWO OF the greats of rugby league will be paying a visit to the Maryborough Sports Club on Friday when a sportsman’s luncheon is held.
The luncheon will give people the opportunity to meet the two greats of league, Wendell Sailor and Artie Beetson, both of whom are more than happy to share their thoughts and experiences of the game.
Maryborough Wallaroos coach Colin Scott, who played in the inaugural State of Origin match for Queensland, will also be at the luncheon.
“It’s a good opportunity to meet two guys who played for their country. Wendell is a dual international, having played rugby union for Australia.”
Sailor, who just played for the Indigenous Allstars side against the NRL Allstars, will also be able to talk about playing in that match and what the future might hold for the Allstars game.
The two will also speak candidly on the highs and lows they have experienced while part of the game.
