Amateur robbers slip up

A URANGAN takeaway shop owner sent two would-be robbers packing today when she threatened to pour hot oil over the bumbling pair.

About 12.30pm, during the Bayside Diner's busy lunch period, two men described as being aged 17 to 20 entered the eatery wearing skinny black jeans, black gloves and beanies with eye-holes cut out of them.

They approached the counter and demanded money but Natalie Watson wasn't having a bar of it.

"I was in shock," Ms Watson told the Chronicle.

"I said 'You either get out or get the hot oil on you'."

The "petrified" pair of amateurs did not stick around to find out if Ms Watson was serious.
