IT'S a whopper of a tourism gig – and the Fraser Coast will be sharing the limelight.
Travelling the east coast of Australia for three months are American backpackers Bobbi-Jo O'Gilvie, from Miami, and Bobbi Lee Hitchon, from New Jersey.
They will be spending their days surfing, snorkelling and soaking up our autumn sun – but this is not your average holiday.
As their nickname, the Blogging Bobbis, suggests, these ladies have signed on to blog, tweet and Facebook every day, as well as upload videos of their experiences to YouTube every week.
Bobbi-Jo, 24, and Bobbi Lee, 23, will take in 20 regions, from Coolangatta to Cape Tribulation.
The Blogging Bobbis are on this trip of a lifetime after winning a world-wide best backpacker job competition held by independent travel website THE WORD.
They will arrive in Hervey Bay on Sunday, to be whisked away on a two-day Cool Dingo tour of Fraser Island, showcasing our World Heritage-listed island to the US.
They will then spend a night on the mainland, staying at Next Backpackers at Torquay.
“The backpacking market is such an important market to the Fraser Coast that we jumped at the chance to partner with VIP Hostels and become involved with these roving ambassadors,” said Cool Dingo sales manager Joe Currenti.
Mark Juppenlatz from Next Backpackers added: “Social media is their main communication tool and having the Blogging Bobbis spend so much time on the Fraser Coast is a terrific boost to international exposure for the area.”
