Renton Ritchie will be one of the trainees in action.
HERVEY Bay’s Renton Ritchie and Sam Eaves share a friendship that goes back many years.
But when it comes to earning a living playing professional golf, the pair leaves their friendship behind the first tee.
They need to if they want to boost their trainee wages by winning a tournament, something they will both be giving their best shot on Monday.
The duo will swing into action alongside 41other young guns in the Queensland PGA Hervey Bay Golf Club Trainee Pro am.
The 18-hole tournament has $7500 in prize money.
Ritchie is doing his traineeship at the host club while Eaves, a former Maryborough Golf Club champion, is doing his at City Golf Club in Toowoomba.
Ritchie said there would be no hard feelings if Eaves won.
“No way mate,” he laughed.
“Whoever wins, wins.”
