BIDS for a flourishing 2m-high cycad being auctioned to raise money for charity have reached $750.
Nikenbah's Reuse and Recycle saved the mature plant from the jaws of a mulcher and nursed it back to health.
Reuse and Recycle chief executive Paul Birchall-Hunt said it was still good value for someone and he hoped to draw a few more bids.
“It's an extremely attractive cycad,” he said.
Mr Birchall-Hunt said anyone interested in buying the plant had until noon on November 6 to place their bid.
“We'll hype it up on the sixth in the morning – we'll get out there and spruik a bit and see if we can get it up a bit more,” he said.
Mr Birchall-Hunt said Reuse and Recycle would match the winning bid so Angel Flight was assured of receiving at least $1500.
He said Angel Flight did so much for the community in this area it was a good cause to support.
The cycad will be on display at Reuse and Recycle until November 6.
