Litterbug leaves her calling card

A WOMAN who left her identification in a pile of rubbish dumped in the Wongi State Forest has been fined by the Department of Environment and Resource Management.

Old Coach Road resident Allan Fuary discovered the pile of household waste in the forest on one of his regular walks in October.

It wasn’t the first time he had come across mounds of junk in the area but it was the first time he found such an obvious calling card.

The identification included a health care card letter and numerous bank receipts all in the same woman’s name.

“It’s absolute stupidity,” Mr Fuary said.

“People use the forest as a dump.

“They dump in the forest so they don’t have to pay to go to the tip.”

Mr Fuary reported his findings to DERM and the department investigated the matter.

The Maryborough woman responsible for the illegal dumping was tracked down and ordered to clean up the mess within seven days or else she could be slugged with a fine of several thousand dollars.

Mr Fuary said the rubbish had been removed during the night under the cover of darkness.
