AGED-care reform was the hot topic at a forum this morning where almost 70 senior citizens and industry workers gathered to debate the new federal Productivity Commission.
The Productivity Commission has proposed a new regulatory body that would strip away all regulatory functions from the Department of Health and Ageing.
It has also proposed a new funding scheme that would allow seniors to sell their home to fund care costs.
Hervey Bay, Melbourne and Perth are the only places in Australia the forums have been held, and will form a major part of the National Seniors Australia’s submissions on the new policy.
