More than 550 people turned out for the Walk for Daniel from Torquay Sailing Club to Seafront Oval in Pialba on Saturday.
FUNDRAISER Jodie Tangikara is still seeing red after Saturday's Walk for Daniel Morcombe, but the Hervey Bay mum could not be happier.
Ms Tangikara spent weeks organising the fundraising walk, in which more than 550 people hiked 3km to the Seafront Oval in memory of the murdered Sunshine Coast teen.
"It was such a great turn-out," she said.
"Everyone was wearing red shirts and there were red balloons everywhere."
Ms Tangikara said she was overwhelmed by the positive response not only from participants, but also companies who donated food, services and equipment to make the day run smoothly.
"We're still counting the money as it comes in, but so far we've got over $1200," she said.
"We're already planning to do it all again next year."
The money will be donated to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation for child safety education.
