POLICE have not given up hope of finding alive a fisherman lost at sea off Fraser Island.
The 25-year-old has been missing since about midnight Friday, when he and another fell from their small fishing boat and were swept away.
The second man, aged 31, was plucked from the water just south of the island's Kingfisher Bay resort in the early hours of yesterday.
He was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital and was later released.
Both men are from Maryborough.
Police are currently conducting an extensive air and sea search with the help of the AGL Rescue helicopter and local VMR.
