$2 million in drought relief offered to primary producers
ALMOST $2 million from the Queensland Government is helping primary producers grapple with unrelenting drought conditions.
Those leasing state land are entitled to a rebate off their 2013-14 rent, ensuring their rent costs do not increase.
Landholders on a site declare an "individually droughted property" or within a drought-declared shire may also be able to claim the rebate.
The Department of Natural Resources has so far handed out $1.87 million worth of rebates to 2622 landholders.
For more information, landholders should contact the department on 13 74 68 or visit http://www.dnrm.qld.gov.au.
