2010 begins with good intentions
WE ALL start the new year with good intentions but resolutions rarely last past January.

Australian Medical Association president Dr Andrew Pesce said giving up smoking was all about good planning.
“There are many ways to quit smoking and different methods will suit different people,” Dr Pesce said.
“For advice and support, see your GP who can talk you through the different methods and help with an approach that is best suited to you.”
Dr Pesce said smokers could also take advantage of free resources like Quitline, which is available on 131 848 or online at www.quitnow.info.au.
Tobacco smoking is the single largest preventable cause of ill health and death in Australia, contributing to coronary heart disease, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, cancer and a variety of other diseases.
