Weapons used in fight between two men at Urangan: police

POLICE have charged a 23-year-old man following an incident at Urangan on Friday night.

About 10pm police were called to a residence in Boat Harbour Drive following reports of a serious assault.

It will be alleged the man engaged in a physical fight with another 23-year-old man and that the dispute has escalated with both men using weapons.

As a result the victim has suffered injuries to his hand and chest and was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital.

The men were known to each other.

The 23-year-old man was charged with one count each of grevious bodily harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and of driving whilst disqualified.

The man was due to appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Saturday.
