“Anything's possible” as GWS eye Franklin for draft pick

"ANYTHING'S possible".

That was the response from GWS list manager Stephen Silvagni yesterday when asked if the Giants would use their No.1 draft pick as trade bait to secure the services of star Hawthorn forward Lance Franklin.

Franklin will become a restricted free agent at the end of this season and is yet to sign a new deal at Hawthorn, sparking rumours he is about to leave for new pastures.

The Giants have reportedly held discussions with Franklin's manager Liam Pickering, with a $10m package over six years apparently on offer, although nothing has been officially tabled.

The club would almost certainly be able to get Franklin in October's free agency period with that sort of offer unlikely to be matched by the Hawks.
