Man caught with pants down

A HERVEY Bay man who passed out in the middle of a road with his pants around his ankles has this week fronted court to plead guilty to a charge of public nuisance.

The Hervey Bay Magistrates Court heard police arrested Anthony Francis Dorney on January 16 after a concerned member of the public spotted him unconscious on a road near the Hervey Bay Airport.

Police prosecutor Jeanette Grigoris said he appeared intoxicated and was talking “gibberish” when approached by officers.

A red-faced Dorney told the court he had attended a party and had no recollection of his actions.

He assured Magistrate Tom Killeen that the offending was not his usual behaviour.

Mr Killeen spared him a conviction and fined him $100.
