Defendant irate after case adjourned

A MAGISTRATE was told to “get f**ked” by an irate defendant today.

Mark John Hammond was supposed to have his break and enter charge dealt with in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today, and was very unhappy it was adjourned until August.

Hammond is in custody until the charge is dealt with, and will now have to wait another two months behind bars.

The case was adjourned today because a key prosecution witness was unavailable, and Magistrate Andrew Walker felt the interests of justice demanded the court hear from the witness.

When the next hearing date in August was read to Hammond, he turned his back on Mr Walker then shouted the abuse as he left the dock.
